Story
Two years ago someone suggested that I would never run a marathon, igniting my passion for distance running and provoking my competitive streak. Ten months later I ran 42.2km, completing the Melbourne Marathon in 2016. BOOM!
Through the Royal Society of Blind Children, I have been given the privilege to be able to fulfil my goal of running one of the world marathon majors in my home country.
The RSBC are on a mission to make sure every single blind child has the self-belief and skills to fulfil the potential they are capable of. Through the services of RSBC children are given the opportunity to learn new skills, make friendships and gain the confidence and ability to set them up for life.
The London Marathon has raised over GBP450 million (equivalent to approx AUD750 million), and is the Guinness Word Record holder for the largest annual fundraising event.
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to not only participate in such a mammoth fundraising event but to be able to work with the RSBC to make a real difference in children's lives.
