Story
Action Against Child Poverty Campaign, a ground-breaking initiative launched in 2015 by St John’s Foundation with a coalition of partner organisations, after local authority statistics revealed that one in five children in Bath and the surrounding area of North East Somerset live below the poverty line, after taking into account housing costs.
With Bath being generally seen as such an affluent city many find it hard to understand or even imagine that poverty exists in the area. But within the local authority area there lie areas of hidden poverty in Twerton/Whiteway, Keynsham and Norton Radstock
100% of funds raised will go directly to the Lifestyle Change Project, a three-year targeted programme to reduce child poverty in Bath and North East Somerset
“No child, young person or family in Bath and North East Somerset should face the challenges of poverty that so many currently do, and the impact this has on their development. Our children and young people of today, are our hope for tomorrow and that is why we want your support to help us and our partner organisations to reduce child poverty in Bath and North East Somerset.” Sue Porto CEO St John’s Foundation
