Story
Hi everyone, first of all thank you for taking the time to visit this page.
So i've decided to run quite a long way with two good friends around a famous mountain in Japan.
The purpose? To raise money and give back to the wonderful people that looked after my lovely mother, Janet, while she was going through a really tough time in her, and all of our lives.
At the end of 2011 Mum contracted fungal keratitis in her eye which led to temporary blindness for 18 months. Thankfully she has regained her sight now but only after 7 years and 15 (yes FIFTEEN) operations and countless days wondering if she would see the world from both eyes ever again.
In her words; "Without Parvez Hossain and his team at Southampton Eye Hospital I would not have the sight I have now."
Im hoping to raise as much money as possible to donate to the Gift of Sight charity which funds world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness. It is definitely not something that I had thought about prior to the episode that affected my family.
Sight is something that i think we all take for granted until something forces you to realise how blessed we are to have it.
Me and my family really appreciate any contributions to this cause and ill give my all to finish this thing!
Much love,
Sam
