Story
It's Giving Tuesday. This year, the Task Force (where I work, as I bet you recall) is dedicating the funds we raise to our Creating Change scholarship fund. Creating Change is our annual conference. We're in San Francisco this Feb. 17-21 to kick off our 50th (!!!) Anniversary. AND it's the first time we've been in SF AND it's the first time we've been in person since 2020. Back in the before-times. Which seems like a whole Ice Age and a half ago.
I expect us to have to turn people away for lack of room. What I do NOT want to do is turn people away because they can't afford to come - they can't find the money for registration or travel or hotel or food while they're at the conference or any of these things. Frankly, people who need to chose between rent and food and Creating Change are exactly the people who need to be at the conference. They need the tools to make change in their lives and their community's life more than people like me who can just book a ticket, book a room and show up.
So. Money is like manure (and if you don't know where this is from, sit down here next to me and I'll explain) and I'd love you to spread some of yours around so more of the people who really need Creating Change get Creating Change.
Yep - you can change a life which could change the world. Serious. That's how it works.
