Story
I have become so incensed of late by the staggering rises in homelessness and rough sleeping right across our country. When I moved to Brighton 2 years ago I had not anticipated encountering such a bleak and obvious challenge in the community. It has become such that Brighton & Hove now has the largest number of people per capita sleeping rough outside of London. In a city with so much affluence, refinement and opportunity this horrifies, no angers me. So as I make my way through town or walk to the train station I’m reminded how privaledged I am and that regardless of reason or choice an increasing number of people need our help and support.
With 6 weeks to go I recieved an email from the Clock Tower who I had been in touch with at the beginning of the year. A last minute place had become available to run and raise money for a charity that I believe will make a real difference to people I see every single day. I don’t believe in fate but I do believe in seizing opportunities when they present themselves so here I am requesting your support to help me help those who are less fortunate than us.
Thanks
Sam
