Run Norwich; show your support for YMCA Norfolk!

On Sunday 19th July 2020 I shall be running on behalf of YMCA Norfolk who are delighted to be an appointed charity in Norwich's award-winning 10-kilometre road race, organised by Norwich City FC and the Community Sports Foundation.

Their mission is to transform the lives of young people and we get to do this by supporting young people affected by homelessness in our own housing through to our work supporting young people and families in the wider community.  In the last year we have helped over 15,000 people in the local community through accommodation, education provisions, youth clubs and family support. None of this would be possible without our inspiring fundraisers and community of supporters. 

My own running journey began nearly 2 years ago inspired initially by my then 9 year old son who is actively into running and my friend who had just started the Couch to 5k Journey.  With my son in my ear I downloaded the Couch to 5K App and apprehensively put my trainers on! He was with me on the whole ‘journey’ encouraging me with every painful step! I now run on average 3 times a week, this has greatly improved my fitness levels over the last 2 years.  I can safely say I now officially have the 'running bug' so would like to use my enthusiasm for running to raise vital funds for YMCA Norfolk, hence entering Run Norwich 2020.
