This time of year can be a real struggle for many families, even more so in the current climate. Graeme Foreman of GFIS solutions put a challenge out to his friends. Teams of 5  to run/walk 500 miles from 21 Nov to 21 Dec. Raising funds for a local charity to help provide families with food on Christmas Day. 

So, I recruited the rest of the PE department (Team HG) and we have taken on the challenge. 500 miles running/walking on top of our usual working day.

We have chosen Gateshead Food Bank as it serves our schools local community, and provides an incredibly valuable service for many families. No one should be worrying about putting food on the table, especially at Christmas.
