UKSA Leave No Child Behind
Campaign by UKSA (RCN 299248)
Enabling children in difficult circumstances across the UK to participate in residential activity programmes at UKSA with their school or group, building skills like confidence, team-work and resilience.

Story

Poorer children are falling behind their classmates at school. It has been shown that outdoor adventure activities, like those offered by UKSA, can help young people to catch up academically. By teaching young people to sail and try watersports, we are also helping them to learn important leadership and life-skills like team-work, communication and determination; however, cost is often a barrier to the families of children that we want to help most of all. Sadly, we often hear that not all the children in a class or group have been able to come to UKSA. Our mission at UKSA is to widen access to maritime training programmes. This year we plan to raise £50,000 which will enable up to 260 school children to join their classmates at UKSA on a residential adventure.
