Story

Who are we? We are the Sandy Sappers! We are serving Airborne Royal Engineers from 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment, based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Our team members:

Pedro Dobinson

Tom Partington

Dan Lansley

Why? We have been astounded by the amount of charitable giving and fundraising this last year, by those with whom we are lucky to work with, and the British people in general. To all these, you have inspired us and many others like us to be more charitable with our time and money, and to do something good for others. We also love a challenge, and the more challenging... the better! So why not indulge our competitive natures in a productive manner, and also raise some money for an extremely deserving cause?

Walking With The Wounded. Following a talk to our Regiment by MdS veteran and double amputee Duncan Slater last year, his story in particular has inspired us to fundraise for Walking With The Wounded.

When? The Sandy Sappers will be on the start line in the Moroccan Sahara on Friday 25th March 2022, ready to run 250km in just five sweltering days. In the meantime, we will be training, we will fundraising, ready for the challenge of a lifetime!

If you have read this far, thank you. If you're feeling generous and can spare a tuppence, please spare us a few bob and donate! Otherwise please pray for unseasonal Saharan snow in Spring 2022.

Best wishes,

The Sandy Sappers
