Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We all have friends and family that have been affected by cancer. We are all delighted to be able to support this worthy cause by walking the Marsden March to raise funds for Breast Cancer equipment....

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and accounts for 31% of all new cases of cancer in women.  The Breast Unit at The Royal Marsden is one of the largest in the UK with around 1,000 new breast cancer referrals every year.  The team are currently leading several ground-breaking trials that require genetic sequencing of tumour and blood samples from thousands of patients.  The Hamilton Starlet Robot would streamline multiple processes to make the sequencing process much more efficient.  This state-of-the-art robot can process samples much more quickly and accurately than is humanly possible, ensuring consistent results, at a reduced cost.  This in turn would free up staff time to dedicate to further research, and to patient care.

Amy donations however big or small are welcomed. Every penny counts.  Thank you so very much!
