Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My amazing sister Alys has been on a difficult journey since being diagnosed with pseudomyxoma perotinei which is a rare type of
cancer that usually starts in the appendix.

She needed major surgery at Basingstoke Hospital and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy at Addenbrookes Hospital where she was cared for by the oncology team. She was cared for at Arthur Rank Hospice inpatient unit for 6 months enabling her symptoms to be better managed at this difficult time.

Alys sadly passed away from pseudomyxoma perotenei on 8th April 2018.   Alys had two major surgeries and following her second operation had a stoma.  Living with a stoma meant changes to Alys diet and learning to manage the stoma.  Stoma wise provided valuable support and advice which enabled Alys to continue to lead as normal a life as possible.
