Story

To all my lovely sponsors,

I'm afraid I am having to pull out of this years 'Ride The Night'.

After thoroughly enjoying a return to cycling it became apparent that my body had other ideas. To cut a very long, and at times very worrying, story short I have been diagnosed with a condition called adenomyosis where the walls of your uterus start to grow into the lining of the womb causing bloating, constant lower back pain and general fatigue. At one point I had raised cancer markers show up in blood tests and was tested for ovarian cancer...the irony of which, amongst the concern, was not lost on me... Thankfully these were just due to the number of cysts and fibroids I have on my ovaries.

Needless to say my training has fallen behind and, as I will be having a full hysterectomy on May 22nd, won't even be able to go and wave my fellow team mates off...let alone ride in the event.

The charity organizers have kindly said I can postpone to next year, given the circumstances, and your kind donations can stay where they are. If however you feel you would like to withdraw your donation let me know and I can find out how we go about a refund.

For those happy to have faith in me, thank you.  I feel very positive about the surgery and it will see the end to some difficult symptoms I have dealt with my whole life. That, along with an enjoyment in exercise I thought was beyond me, is boding well for the forthcoming year.

Thank you for starting this ride with me...I hope you'll be there at the finish.

Bring on May 2020.

Love,

Sarah

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have never done anything like this before and think I'm probably a bit bonkers! However, I have lost my Dad to cancer, our dear friend Jerome at the ridiculous age of 37, one of my dearest friend's Mum, my lovely neighbours nephew, leaving behind a young family, a precious, irreplaceable soul called Pippa and too, too many more. It is well overdue time for this revolting disease to be stopped and I'd like to think in some small way I will be contributing to what I hope will be it's eventual demise.

I also hope I survive the ride.... :) Watch out London....

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I would be very grateful for any amount you could spare...thanks for reading.
