Story
Sam has a condition called Sturge-Weber. In short, this is excessive blood vessels on the brain and skin. The excessive blood vessels on the skin are apparent by a port wine stain primarily on his face. For this he is receiving laser treatment. The more concerning part of this condition is the excessive vessels on the brain. These are on his left side of his brain and behind his left eye. Because of this, he has difficulties with his left eye (Glaucoma) and also difficulty using his right arm and right leg, meaning he has struggles in everyday life with things that most people take for granted, like walking/crawling, eating, balance etc.
Rainbow house are offering treatment that can help. Treatment that is not available on the NHS. This COULD determine his future and give him a better quality of life, greater self worth and increasing his independence and therefore requiring less support from others.
Obviously this treatment comes at a price. To my family, Sam not recieving this treatment is not an option. But like most people, raising the funds will not be easy and will therefore be funded by various resources including savings, fundraising etc.
I understand that there are many charities and events needing money, but as you can appreciate, this is so personal to myself and my family. This could change a little boys life for the better. Sam is such a loving, fun character, and deserves the best in life. I am not asking for any large donations, but if you could give just a little, everything helps. And if you cannot afford to give, then please share. Sturge-Weber is not contagious, but awareness is.
Many Thanks for visiting my page and a massive thank you to you all for donating, no matter how large or small...THANK YOU!!!
