Story
Like many people, I learnt to play a couple of instruments (clarinet and piano) whilst I was at school, but didn't take it that seriously and gave up as soon as more exciting leisure opportunities presented themselves! I think one of the other reasons I didn't practice enough and finally lost interest is because I chose the wrong instruments and had rather uninspiring teachers.
For a long time, I have been day-dreaming about learning the guitar, so when the opportunity to take part in Making Music's Grade1athon came along, I jumped (somewhat nervously) at the chance. And luckily, I have a talented friend Ben who has very kindly agreed to give me lessons. Poor chap!
I failed the only music exam I've ever attempted (Grade 3 clarinet) in year 7. I was so nervous that I found the whole experience really painful, so much so that I had what turned out to be a very bad migraine the following day where I couldn't see, speak or walk properly. I decided that I would never take a music exam again. So, I'm hoping that this will be a much happier and more relaxed experience. With your support, and knowing I am doing a little something to help other people enjoy the many benefits of making music, I think it will be much easier.
