Story

Last year I signed up to run the Royal Parks Half marathon, in memory of my lovely Dad, who died 4 years ago, far too suddenly for any of us to fathom.   He had been living with a blood cancer for a number of years, which is why I chose this charity.

Many of you very kindly sponsored me last year, but I had to pull out, due to a knee injury.   It was very frustrating.  For those that did sponsor me, I want to say thank you for your generosity, because it was not in vain.  I'm running this year!  The knee is doing ok and I'll be on the course I will be on the course on Sunday, whatever the weather, thinking of my Dad, with his broad grin,  cheering me on and saying "How wonderful, Sarah."

No need to sponsor me a second time (obviously) but if you haven't sponsored me and would like to, all donations are appreciated.

Ps previous donations were on Virgin Money page (no longer running) which is why they don't show up on here.

About the charity

The cure for blood cancers is in the hands of ordinary people. A match depends on finding a donor with a similar ethnicity as the patient. 4 in 5 people from the BAME community do not find a match. Race Against Blood Cancer works to improve the odds of patients in finding a life-saving donor match.
