Whitby does 'Denim for Dementia'

Whitby does 'Denim for Dementia' · 28 February 2020
Denim for dementia is part of an ongoing national project within the Alzheimer’s society and on the 28th February 2020 we want to bring it to Whitby!
We are encouraging residents of Whitby to take part in a denim day for Alzheimer's Society. Each person is asked to wear an item of denim clothing and donate to the charity. It is to take place on 28th February 2020 and the event will be used to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
In Yorkshire and Humber there are over 60,000 people with dementia and its predicted that this figure will rise to just over 80,000 by 2021. With someone in the UK developing the disease every three minutes,
dementia is set to be the 21st century's biggest killer.
The Alzheimer’s Society provides a range of local services such as support groups, local services that provide day care and home care as well as befriending services to help partners and families with the demands of caring.
The aim is to get as many individuals, schools and business involved with Denim for Dementia Day as possible and raise some money for an amazing cause.
