This year I became a trustee of the Sutton Carers Centre, a fantastic charity which does amazing work providing support to carers to help build resilience and the capacity to manage their caring role. 

It never ceases to amaze me how many people I meet on a regular basis who either have or are currently supporting a loved one - be it for a mental or physical health condition.  However what doesn't surprise me is how carers can often be the silent majority and are not always aware of where they can go for help and advice. 

So to raise awareness of carers and the help and support that is out there for them, I have roped in my noisiest colleagues Leah Birch and Gaby Devereux to join me in a Sponsored Silence on Wednesday 14 December (don't worry we'll be accepting donations after this date if you can't afford to stump up the cash immediately).  We also appreciate no-one expects we can actually do this and you might want to be old school and wait until we finish the 9-5pm task!......But please be assured we're a determined bunch and we want to win despite the obvious distractions!

Anyone who has ever spent more than two minutes in the company of Gaby, Leah or I will know just how hard staying silent will be so please give generously!
