I recently lost my young dog in a freak accident whilst on a walk. We should have had many more years together, but he lived his best whippet life every day and it would be a fitting tribute to him if hounds in desperate need had the chance to find their own comfy sofa and space to run.

Finding out about the plight of dogs destined for meat markets in China made me determined to do 'something' and since Hugo was a bold boy who would have had no trouble jumping from a plane if a crow flew past the window, a charity skydive seemed the logical next step. 

Candy Cane rescues dogs from the meat trade in China and rehomes them in the UK and North America. Due to Covid-19 over 200 dogs are stuck in China, up to 18 months after being rescued. Flights are starting again but costs have rocketed. With so many dogs still in China they need our help to bring them home to their forever families.  Getting the rescued hounds home also means more dogs can be saved from slaughter in China.

On Saturday 26th June I will be jumping out of a plane, hopefully strapped to an experienced skydiver, over the Nottinghamshire countryside.  I am funding the skydive myself so that all money donated will go to Candy Cane Rescue.
