Story
On April 28th 2019 I will be running the London Marathon; a 26.2 mile race and my first full marathon! To secure my place I've committed to raising a huge £1800 so really need your help!
I am raising money for Max Appeal, a fantastic charity that provides support for children and families affected by DiGeorge syndrome, a devastating condition which has up to 180 known symptoms. This is the most common chromosome micro-deletion condition in the world, affecting around 1 in 1800 babies. However there is no national protocol or any governance in place to ensure that these vulnerable people receive the care that they need. Most doctors have never heard of it.
Isla (my beautiful daughter) has this condition. Through her sheer strength and bravery, along with the support of countless medical professionals and volunteers, she continues to prove everybody wrong every day. Support and guidance from Max Appeal play a key part in this. I'm running this marathon to raise funds for all children and families who need this support, and to show Isla that anything is possible with a bit of hard work and dedication.
Max Appeal are tirelessly promoting the needs of children with DiGeorge syndrome and their families, pushing for a national protocol to be introduced and are bridging the gap between families and hospitals. They have provided invaluable support, information and contacts which have all contributed to Isla's huge progress over the last 7 years.

We are running to provide funding so that this fantastic support can continue, and so that those affected by DiGeorge syndrome now and in the future can get the help that they need.
Santander UK will also be matching donations so please give generously!
