Sean is a 10 year old boy who was a perfectly healthy baby in his Mammy's tummy, but during his delivery he was starved of oxygen and as a result of this Sean now has severe cerebral palsy.

Their is nothing at all that can help Sean's brain damage, but we hope to help get Sean to the USA for stem cell treatment in the hope this will better his quality of life. An application has been made for an expanded access program at the duke university in the USA to use the stem cells which were stored 3 year ago from his siblings placenta as its known these stem cells are best to use as are a 1-4 perfect match to Sean's.

Geordies and Mackem's are joining forces and raising much needed funds to help send Sean to Panama for this specialist treatment not available in Great Britain. 

On Sunday the 14th April 2019, 17 Geordies and 17 Mackem's will all pay a minimum of £50 sponsorship and play a game of football to find out which set of over 40s still has enough zest to claim the fans derby day bragging rights . Players must have their £50 sponsorship paid into the justgiving prior to kick off, or they will be INELIGIBLE to play.

All proceeds raised from this event will go towards getting Sean to America for this much needed treatment.
