Story
The Pankhurst Centre is the birthplace of the Suffragette movement.
It houses a small museum and heritage centre that remains as a legacy to the Pankhurst family and the Suffragette movement, and crutially serves as a women’s community center incorporating Mancehster Women's Aid.
As a women’s community centre it provides space for activities and events run by women, for women.
It offers a unique place in which women can learn together, work on projects and socialise. It is a vibrant centre that hosts a number of women’s organisations and projects that support women, thus continuing the struggle that the Suffragettes began, fighting for women’s rights, all those years ago.
Manchester Women’s Aid is an independent charity providing a range of services for women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.
They offer safe housing in refuges across Manchester and also offer community based support for women and men living in their own homes.
Please help me support the Pankhurst Centre and - as I've not done any running since January - please give me a reason to not drop out!
Thanks
Shanna
