Story

As many of my Facebook friends will know, Ailey was diagnosed with WHS in July 2015, however, many of you still may not know what this condition is.

Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome is an extremely rare chromosomal disorder caused by a partial deletion of the short arm ("p") of chromosome 4. The symptoms of this condition vary depending on the size of the deletion on chromosome 4.                        Some of the major symptoms include - wide set eyes, small head, low set malformed ears, mental and growth deficiency, cardiac defects and seizures. Those affected with WHS tend to have poor muscle tone therefore making it extremely difficult to learn how to weight bare, sit up, walk, talk etc.

This condition has made a major impact on our life's, but my little girl is the most precious little girl I could have ever asked for. She brightens up so many people's lives and never fails to make everyone laugh with her cheeky personality.
