Story
Two years ago, this very week, mid July 2015, I discovered every women's nightmare, a lump on my breast. I was on my third day of a three week holiday at the time, traveling in Europe. We travelled to Santiago De Compostela and while visiting the Cathedral I made a pact with God.
'If it is cancer and I get through it, I will walk back on pilgrimage, I will complete The Camino'
Today, following surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and herceptin I am walking back in thanksgiving for the life changing journey I have been on. Through the journey, I was supported and helped by so many people, too many to mention, but I must mention my family, who were there, through it all, as my rock and support.
I got through it and by supporting this charity I hope to help other similar women get through it too.
We are walking from Ourense in Galicia, Northern Spain, starting Monday 11th September and hopefully arriving into Santiago on Saturday 16th.
A massive thanks to the Team walking with me, Patrick Ward, my husband, Anne Conway my sister and Donal Ward, my brother-in-law, without whose support and encouragement the walk wouldn't be possible.
