Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am joining @JeanHatchet’s Annual Ride for Murdered Women, which will take place on 4th September 2021 at 1pm. I will be riding in Leicester and may ride alone, or other women may join me. The aim of the ride is to honour the lives of women murdered by men as a result of domestic abuse.

To date Jean has ridden for 353 women, brutally stolen from their families and friends, by men who were current or former intimate partners or family members.

I will be riding for Geetika Goyal, a 29 year old woman who was found stabbed and dying in a street in Leicester in March this year. Leicester man, Kashish Aggarwal, 29,  has been charged with her murder. As I ride, I will also be thinking of the other 92+ women who have been murdered by men this year.

For more information on these women, please visit: https://kareningalasmith.com/2021/02/08/2021/

All donations will go The Nia Project, which is run by women for women and children who have experienced men’s violence. To find out more about nia, please visit: https://niaendingviolence.org.uk

I am an inexperienced cyclist with an underused bike. The aim of this ride is not to cover a certain amount of miles, but to raise awareness and support this vital cause.
