Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is my third walking challenge in 2016. This time I am walking for the charity that is closest to my heart - The Microloan Foundation.

I have supported The Microloan Foundation for many years now as part of a personal challenge to raise £1 million for women in developing countries.  As a business woman I know how hard it can be to get a business off the ground and this is why I really appreciate the The Microloan Foundation's work. This charity is very successful in helping women in Malawi and Zambia to get their new business started via a small loan combined with business training. They have a 99% success rate in getting the loans repaid, and the loans are then recycled to help lift more women and their families out of poverty.

Deborah Meaden, from BBC's Dragon's Den, visited the work of the Microloan Foundation in Malawi last year.  Deborah made a short video about why she thinks the Microloan Foundation is a good investment if you want to make a difference to the lives of women in Africa.  As someone with an amazing head for business her video is worth watching.

You can watch Deborah's video by copying this link to your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoZcXVIbWV0&feature=youtu.be

I hope you will support me on my challenge.  I think the women supported by the Microloan Foundation are really worth backing and Deborah Meaden thinks so too.
