Story
In July 2012 my son Callum died at 22 weeks gestation from a fatal genetic disorder, Smith Lemli Opitz Syndrome. The time after that and in particular being pregnant again was very difficult and Sands Lothians has been a big source of support for me personally. Having another healthy daughter has made a huge difference to how I am today but I will always have a small blue heart deep within my own. In recent years I have made Christmas decorations but I am looking for a running challenge this time. As friends will know, the Proclaimers songs are a very big part of our family life, through happy and sad times, so when trying to come up with inspiration 500 miles was something that I kept coming back to. And so running 500 miles is what I am going to do, and I will aim to finish on Callum's birthday 24th July 2016. There are a few fun events I plan to do along the way, but mostly this is going to be me on my own whatever the weather.
Thanks for reading this far and I look forward to updating about my progress along the way xxx
