Update 30/10/19

Tough Runner Epic 10K ✔️

Evans Cycles Wiltshire Sportive 80 miles ✔️

4 challenges completed ✔️

So....Tough Mudder Classic (10 miles) done!!
This was the second part of my challenges to raise money for the bemoreben foundation, after completing the RideLondon 💯 a couple of weeks ago.
I have now decided to sign up for a couple more events (was going to be one more but my OCD wouldn’t allow me to do three and do an odd number of challenges, so I had to do a fourth! 😂)
So on Saturday 26th of October I will run the Tough Runner 10k Event in Bristol and the following day (Sunday 27th, I will take on a 80 mile cycling sportive in Wiltshire (with 4050 ft of climbing!!)
Please note...I am not a highly trained athlete! I am just a standard 42 year old dad of two with a normal/busy career and family life, who tries to fit in sport and fitness activities when I can. Which isn’t always easy. But anything to test yourself while raising awareness and money for fantastic causes like the bemoreben foundation, is a very worthwhile thing 👍

On Sunday the 4th of August I will be taking on the RideLondon 💯, which is a closed road 100 mile cycle challenge through London and out in the hills of Surrey, before finishing back on the Pall Mall. I will be doing this challenge with two of my best friends. I am a reasonably good social cyclist, but 100 miles with big hills is still hard work!! I did take this on last year for another great charity, the Alzheimer’s Society. But was given the opportunity to take it on again, so I thought why not! Whilst trying to raise money for another fantastic and more local charity. 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

Then two weeks later on Saturday the 17th of August, I will be attempting to take on the Ultimate Tough Mudder (25 obstacles over 10 miles). This is something I’ve usually avoided and not really fancied doing, but I’m going to give it a bash with some of my much younger and fitter work mates! I hope they will wait for me and help me out!! Lol 🏃‍♂️💪🏻

So thank you for reading my page and hopefully you can make a donation for this worthy charity. Any amount will be gratefully received. 👍

Bemoreben is a brilliant and still quite new foundation, that was sadly born out of a tragedy, but will now bring much needed support for bereaved families who have lost a child. Please take the time to read their story.

About the charity

Be More Ben

Our son Ben was diagnosed with DIPG, a very rare and aggressive brain tumour, aged 7. Previously fit and well, on diagnosis, we were told his tumour was inoperable and incurable and that we had at best a year left with our son. Despite taking part in a clinical trial and having intensive treatment, Ben passed away 6 months later. Following his death, we found little in the way of regular, ongoing support that was informal and for the whole family. To lose a child and feel that there is no help available to you is frightening and leaves you feeling isolated and vulnerable. We set up The Benjamin Pritchard Foundation – Be More Ben to enhance bereavement support and services for parents, families and siblings who have lost a child under the age of 18.
