Story
I'm usually on two wheels these days, but in October I'm dusting off the pins to run the Oxford Half to raise some money for Jonathan's Voice.
This Oxford charity was set up in memory of Jonathan McCartney, who sadly took his own life aged just 35. The charity aims to reduce stigma and increase awareness of mental health, focussing in particular on young professional men within the workplace. It aims to get people talking about their mental health through workshops and talks, as well as promoting mental health first aiders. From personal experience I know it can be difficult to talk, but doing so improves my mental wellbeing enormously, and therefore anything which promotes this is an excellent cause in my opinion.
If you've got a couple of quid going spare, then Jonathan's Voice would be very grateful for any donations to help share the message: it's okay not to be okay.
