Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Simon - I am attempting to run my first London marathon this year with the help of my guide Richard. I am a former Paralympic athlete and competed in London 2012. I have an eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa which has slowly taken all my sight. I am challenging myself to train hard to run this iconic race and at the same time raise much needed funds for a small children's charity in Brazil.

Richard - I have been running with Simon for a few months now and am constantly inspired by his ability and determination to challenge himself with his running. It is a sport we both love and hopefully we can overcome the obstacles of London and navigating around 45,000 runners together. I have been a trustee of Task Brasil for 10 years and we help children on a daily basis with basic educational, medical and social needs. We give them food, a safe haven and a place to learn so that one day they can rise out of poverty and have a better life. We are a small charity and all money is very much welcomed and appreciated.

About the charity

To provide socio-educational projects for disadvantaged kids to have better prospects in life through education & assistance to ex-residents so that they maintain continuous access to local support network and live in harmony with their families away from the streets.
