Story
Earlier this year in July, my cousin's 15 year old son Toby was diagnosed with Leukemia. As you can imagine, this was a terrible shock for all the family, particularly for his parents Colin & Dianne.
For the last few months Toby has spent countless hours in the Great North Children's Hospital, receiving chemotherapy treatment. (Not exactly a common activity for a 15 year old during the summer holidays!) His parents have remained by his side the whole time.
Away from the familiarity of his home and the company of his friends, Toby's stay on Wards 4 & 14 has been made that bit easier by the Children's Cancer Fund, which supplies the hospital with games, toys and activities. This has been a welcome distraction when it has been most needed.
We are very grateful for all the support Toby has received from this charity and the staff at the hospital in general. In acknowledgment, I will be dedicating my race at Frankfurt Marathon to this very special cause.
