Story

One of our twin grandsons, James, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when he was one year old. He has a partial ASVD which was causing no major symptoms.  Unfortunately his condition deteriorated rapidly this year (he's now five) and he had to undergo major heart surgery at The Royal Children's Hospital in Glasgow to repair it at the beginning of May.

It was a very stressful time for the whole family and The Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation brightened his stay with a special gift for James when he was recovering in hospital. They also provide a holiday home that families can use and play & craft resources for the cardiac ward. To have such a positive experience while recovering really boosted James' mood and was very much appreciated by the whole family.

It's our 50th Wedding Anniversary this July and we feel that any money people would have used to buy gifts or cards would be much better used by this charity. So please give a donation instead and help very brave children and their families during a difficult time instead of giving us more "stuff" that requires dusting!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation was founded to provide help and grant small wishes of children and young people with a heart disorder who are being/or about to be treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow (Yorkhill).
