DATE: Friday 27th November
EVENT: Sleep Out to Help Out for Homelessness
LOCATION: Private Garden (Platform One, Romiley)
Lockdown has been hard for us all. But imagine if you had no home, no bed, no food and nowhere you felt safe? Homeless people need our support now more than ever. We're aware that a 'Sleep Out' will not replicate the harsh realities of being homeless, but we want to help the most vulnerable people in our society as best we can.
On Friday 27th November, Éimear, Phill and Janice will be wrapping up warm and bracing ourselves for a night out in the elements to raise awareness of homelessness and the reality of sleeping rough. Equipped with only our sleeping bags, we will be sleeping rough in the garden of Platform One, Romiley. (COVID-19 guidelines will be adhered to at all times.)
Our aim is to raise money for a local charity for the homeless called 'The Wellspring' in Stockport, whilst gaining an insight into what it might be like to be homeless in winter.
We would be really grateful for your support and would love you to contribute in any way possible. Every pound we raise helps ensure people at risk of homelessness in Stockport don't have to face those conditions night-after-night.
Thank you.
Éimear, Phill and Janice
