We support homeless and vulnerable people to a future of greater stability and hope

Story

At Smart Energy GB we like to challenge ourselves, set tough targets and work hard to smash them. As such the Smart Energy GB 'Transformers’ running team are taking on the 10k and half marathon at Windsor on the 22nd of May.  Many of us have not run any distance race before so are stepping outside of our personal comfort zone for this very worthy cause. We would all really appreciate your support.

We are running for Spires, a South London based charity that helps hundreds of homeless and disadvantaged people all year round and that some of our staff volunteer at. They work to improve the quality of life of people who are homeless, insecurely housed, unemployed or suffering from the effects of poverty, mental ill health and loneliness. As a small charity they will really be able to see the benefits of even minimal fundraising so anything you can give to support this will make a massive difference.

Spires is a day centre for homeless and vulnerable people based in Streatham, South London. We support over 800 people each years to turn their lives around. Spires aims to improve the quality of life of people who are suffering from complex needs including homeless, sleeping rough, unemployed or suffering the effects of poverty, substance misuse, mental illness or social isolation, by providing a range of centre-based and outreach services.
