We support disabled children to achieve their potential

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are leaping out of a plane at 13,000 feet next week (20th Sept) in order to raise money for KIDS who support over 15,000 disabled children and their families every year.

  • 1 in 20 children living in the UK is disabled
  • Disability in the UK affects more people than cancer and heart disease put together
  • Only 4% of parents of disabled children receive the support they need to safely care for their child (Disabled Children’s Partnership, 2019)
  • Over half parent carers have had to give up work to care for their disabled children and KIDS is working hard redress the balance providing vital services across the country
  • Disabled people’s day to day living costs are 25% higher than those of non-disabled people. (Leonard Cheshire website)
  • 33% of families with disabled children are going without heating, and 31% are going without food. (NPC, Invest in young lives report, 2016)

KIDS provide an extensive range of services to disabled children and young people, aged 0-25 years, irrespective of their impairment or condition. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and we promise to provide photographic evidence of this magnificent/terrifying experience.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
