HARV is a Domestic Violence Service working with women and children from Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley
More than one in four women in England (4.8 million) since aged 16 has experienced at least one incident of domestic abuse. Over 20,000 women a week in the UK experience at least one incident of domestic abuse on average two women a week are murdered at the hands of their current or former partner. Recognise and care for the needs of children affected by violence
We recognise that violence is a violation of women and children’s human rights, that it is the result of an abuse of power and control, and that it is rooted in the historic status of women in the family and in society. Women and children have the right to live their lives free from all forms of violence and abuse, and that society has a duty to recognise and defend this right. It is our priority to develop and deliver high quality services to individuals, families and communities that contribute to ending violence against women and girls.
