This Christmas, State of Play Theatre are making a magical, interactive adventure at the York Theatre Royal called The Mischief Before Christmas. 

We are aware that for some families in York, Christmas is a very difficult time. A recent article by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation says “While Christmas is seen as a really important time for children, the financial stress this puts on parents is evident and they talked about it as a source of ‘dread’ and ‘stress’. (Life on a low income in the UK today, 15th July 2016)

State of Play Theatre would like to spread a little festive spirit this Christmas. We are teaming up with York Theatre Royal and Joseph Rowntree Foundation to raise enough money to be able to donate 10% of our tickets, a total of 170 tickets, to six incredible local charities, all of whom support York families in need. We would like to be able to spread a little Christmas magic by offering these families an opportunity to join us for free on our Christmas adventure here at the theatre. 

A donation of £6 will pay for a child to see the show.

A donation of £12 will pay for an adult to see the show.

A donation of £18 pays for a child and accompanying adult to see the show. For many this will be their first adventure at a theatre!
