In June 2017 Stephanie was diagnosed with Acromegaly a rare endocrine disorder caused by a brain tumour. Having undergone surgery in December 2017 to remove part of the tumour she has now completed a course of radiotherapy in hope to reduce the size of the remaining tumour. She has been and will continue to be primarily treated at St Barts Hospital who have been outstanding throughout! 

Barts are one of the few hospital trusts in the country to offer treatment and care for such rare conditions. As some of the services and facilities are so specialised, GPs from all over the UK and across Europe refer patients to Barts Health. They have their own dedicated investigation and inpatient unit enabling clinical and laboratory based studies and trials to further understand these tumours and their treatment and teaching programmes within the department. 

Our initial target is to raise £7,000 for Bart's over the course of a year through running a series of events as well as online donations. So far family and friends have agreed to do the following: 

• Simon will be running the Hackney half Marathon in May 
• Ann will be hosting a summer bbq in Chesham
• Tracy will be hosting a bake sale
• Sharon will be hosting a World Cup sweepstake 
• Claire (Stephanie’s cousin) will be running the Dublin Marathon in October 
• Josh will be chopping his luxurious locks off and giving his hair to the little princesses trust
• To finish things off Jay and Stephanie will be taking on the Dalai Lama Himalayan Trek in April 2019!
