When my nephew George was 2 years old, we were made aware that he might have autism. For the next 3 years my sister went through the long process of taking George to many specialists, and when he was 5, he was officially diagnosed with autism.

George is now 8 and is one of the most loving, compassionate, headstrong, friendly boys you’ll ever meet!

A lot of people don’t understand autism, and don’t understand the way George behaves; his outbursts when he doesn’t want to do something, or when he gets super excited and animated because he’s just seen a Godzilla toy on a shelf (that’s his current favourite).

I am trying to raise more awareness of autism, to help people understand autism and how tough it is those individuals who are unable to express their feelings, as well as their parents and carers.

This is why I am excited to be raising money for Child
Autism UK.

Child Autism UK support children at a very early age to be
able to achieve their full potential, whether this be supporting difficulties with communication, learning or social interaction. They also support families, giving them the tools and training they need to be able to truly support their child with autism.

Last year I raised £1269 for Action for Children, and this
year I’m taking it to the next level!
