On Sunday the 8th May I will be taking part in the Fred Whitton Challenge. This is a 112 mile cycle sportive around the Lake District. Starting in Grasmere and taking in climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott, Wrynose and Blea Tarn passes. With over 3,160 vertical metres of climbing (Mount Everest is 8,849) this is easily one of the hardest single day sportives in the UK.
