The Challenge…. to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, raising funds for Featherstale Children’s Village, Tanzania an eco community, housing special needs children. .

Story

I am someone that is always happy help people if I can, and been meaning and wanting to do more to give back, but never really getting around to it (sure there are plenty, in the same boat as me).

Well that's changing in 2018 and going from one extreme to another, as I am now climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (the largest free standing mountain in the world at just under 20,000 feet) for the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation to raise funds for the Feathers Tale - disabled children's village in Tanzania.

Funds raised will primarily go towards the building of a new purpose built 20 bedroom accomodation facility which will house 25 to 50 special needs Children and their single parent mothers. A truly remarkable and worthy cause managed by an amazing team which we will visit before our ascent.

Why?

Watch this video

and the read the following

I think that just about covers it :-)

How? I was at a charity fund raiser arranged by Jonny Lee and Russel Clements and made the comment to my CEO Sam Kamyar that the work Jonny is doing is inspiring and Kilimanjaro would be an amazing once in a lifetime experience (a week later Sam tells me he has signed me up).

Whilst this will be an amazing trip and experience, it is definitely going to be a challenge for me (for those that know me, I am no fitness fanatic). I am really keen to smash my fund raising target, no amount is too little and will go a long way to helping the development of Feathers Tale Children's village and the lives of people it supports ( the money will help me mentally, I have set the target at £19,341 as this equates to £1 per foot climbed, help me get there mentally and financially).

Important bit's for people donating, all the costs for the trip are being met separately so fund raising is genuine fund raising (with 80% reaching the Feathers Tale - Children's village, and 20% contributing to the charities operating costs).

Thank you for your support in advance, and I will keep you updated on my progress leading upto the climb, during, and follow up after.

Thanks

Steve
