OK - here is the mad plan. With my Berber friend Moha in May I am going to walk from the highest point in North Africa into the desert down from Toubkal through the Draa Valley to M'hamid over 400 km. This is not an established trek or route and not an 'organised event ' and I have not so far been able to find anyone else who has done it. I am intending raise money to support the education of girls in a part of the world where they they often miss out on secondary education which is bad news for them and for their country.  Education For All Morocco believes that if you educate a girl, you educate the next generation. They build and run boarding schools for girls who live in the remotest and poorest villages of the High Atlas region of Morocco. Trekking and working in this region has given me so much joy and fulfilment that I really want to give something back.Without these houses, the girls would be out of school, married young and unable to fulfil their dreams and ambitions. With an education, they can flourish, go to University, pursue careers and contribute fully and equally in Moroccan society.
