Story
In August 2016 I watched a video posted on Facebook which inspired me.
The video sees a bereaved parent talking about his brave 6 year old son who had just passed away after a long fight with cancer.
I'm a firm believer that my life is very blessed and after watching this video for a few moments I was inspired to get off my backside and try to make a difference, no matter how small.
At the start of 2017 I set myself three challenges, in the hope that my efforts will help at least one family.
Challenge One - Pennywell Farm 10K - DONE!!
Challenge Two - Torbay Half Marathon - DONE!!
Challenge Three - THHN City to Sea Marathon - 3rd September
The City to Sea is a challenging 26.6 mile run from Exeter Riverside to Babbacombe Downs.
The first 20 miles are pretty much flat, but then the final six as you join the South West coast path are where the real fun starts - ALL UPHILL!!
The route covers riverside, country lanes, woodlands, cliff tops, beaches and harbours. Just the normal stuff for your first marathon.
For my first two challenges I've purposefully avoided asking for any sponsorship.... until now.
Now, I'm unashamedly asking each and every one of you reading this post to dig deep and help me support an amazing charity so that they can continue making memories for those who will need them when the inevitable happens.
Whether it's £1, £5, £10 or £50 (you never know!!) I'll be very grateful.
I'll also be in a heap at the the end of the 26.6 miles but we will have made it possible for many magical memories to have been made.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my page.
