We provide suicide prevention training to reduce youth suicide

Story

On 19th September 2019 Team Salamon (Steven and Deanne Salamon) will be attempting The Tube Challenge to raise funds for The OLLIE Foundation in memory of Oli Leigh.

In 2016, three parents who had all lost their teenage sons to suicide, vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies. The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) is a registered charity funding suicide intervention skills training for adults working with young people.

My girlfriend Michelle’s son Oli took his life on the 1st May 2018. As a family we are still mourning the loss of Oli daily.

He was a bright intelligent young man who would have become a great man, if it was not for being so sad and unable to communicate his feelings.

I would like to show support to Michelle and her family by raising funds for The OLLIE Foundation.

ON THE 19TH SEPTEMBER, ALONG WITH MY COUSIN DEANNE, WE WILL BE ATTEMPTING THE LONDON TUBE CHALLENGE.  WE ARE GOING TO ATTEMPT TO VISIT AS MANY STATIONS ON THE
LONDON UNDERGROUND AS POSSIBLE IN 18 HOURS.

The 2 of us have long-wanted to do this fun challenge and now we have a cause close to our hearts to stir us into action. We want to remember Oli and raise funds to prevent others suffering in silence until they feel there is no other way out.  We see awareness, prevention and intervention training for as many people as possible who come into contact with vulnerable young people as the best way of combating  suicide, the biggest killer of under 35's in the UK.
