Story

URGENT PLEASE HELP US......

Sunflowers Suicide Support have been offering 1-2-1 online counselling to our Sunflowers Families throughout the pandemic. We have only been able to offer this additional service because we were awarded Covid-19 emergency funding.

Suicide loss is a traumatic and complex grief process and the sessions allow people the time to work through some of the trauma as a result of their loss, in a safe way. We provide our Sunflowers Families with 6 sessions with a fully trained, accredited BACP counsellor.

These sessions have been vital in our support for families who have lost a loved one to Suicide and helping their mental wellbeing.

The emergency funding has now been exhausted and we are desperately trying to secure more funding to continue to offer these counselling sessions. We still have a waiting list of people in need of counselling AND an increase in people accessing our service.

All our fundraising efforts at present are down!! We have had to cancel all of the events we had planned this year and usually these bring in money to help keep our services running.

PLEASE HELP US..... We ask that you please help us any way you can even if you give 50p your support is appreciated more than you will ever know

THANK YOU 🌻🌻

About the charity

Sunflowers was created in memory of Pete Morris who died by suicide in 2016. His family developed the Charity to walk alongside others bereaved by suicide and to be a small ray of light in the darkness; offering others comfort and support that is so desperately needed at such a difficult time. Sunflowers endeavour to provide other families with practical and professional support so they do not feel overwhelmed and alone. This we hope will give a glimmer of hope for the future. Sunflowers also raise awareness around mental health and suicide both on social media and by networking locally and nationally. We deliver accredited training to the wider community and presentations sharing our story. We highlight that it is Okay to not be ‘Okay’ and the importance of talking and of course listening. We feel that everyone can play a small part in connecting with and helping others to feel less alone.
