As most of you know I take part in fundraising events every year for ReachOut Now. This year I will be doing the 4days /3 nights Inca trail in Peru trekking the Andes for 4 days to reach Machu Picchu the Inca ruins. This is a grueling Trek and the highest point is 4200m( 13,800ft) high which will be a real test of our endurance. From Past experiences, sleeping in tents in forest environment is never easy especially due to high altitude where the oxygen level is way less than normal. Being exposed to all kinds of weather ( hot at base, rain and freezing at the top) flies and insects is always a challenge. This is on top of the difficult long trek and using outdoor toilets in the middle of the nights is an ask in itself. But all this is worth as it is for a good cause ReachOut Now is committed to,  building schools, orphanages , health clinics and general poverty reduction. Most of all, 100%, that's right 100% of donation goes to the good cause as all the expenses are borne by the trustees.

Last year the charity raised funds to build 10 schools in the Tribal area of East India (Jharkhand and West Bengal) details can be found www.reachoutnow.org/SchoolEastIndia.

Current project is to build school for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Ethiopia and Addis Ababa, East Africa.

“ReachOut Now” is a small friends run UK registered charity
(www.reachoutnow.org). It works with local communities around the world on
projects to improve education, health and quality of life, with a particular
focus on children's and old people’s welfare. The charity was
started by a group of friends from work in 2002 and projects have been
successfully run in countries around the world including Cambodia, Kenya,
India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Togo, Tanzania and most recently,
Guatemala. Typical projects include the building of orphanages, schools
and medical units for those most vulnerable. We aim to have full control of projects to ensure money gathered is
utilized specifically for the project to see it through to the result.
