We Rehabilitate and rehome rescued animals to give a second chance at a happy life

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page about this crazy thing I have agreed to do!

The RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre has 80 kennels and sadly they have housed some very unloved, mis-treated animals. As well as animals that have lost their owners and have had no-one to look after them. This is where the care of the staff at the centre plays a huge part in the dogs life. During their stay at the centre, the health, happiness, well-being and potential future of the dog are all priority.

Our centre is working hard to get the kennels up to the new standards that have been put in place before the deadline of June 2017. Part of this work includes replacing the kennel seperators with a hard-wearing alternative. At the moment the kennels have rubber seperators which are now showing signs of wear and tear. The new ones are made from galvanised steel which will last a lot longer.

At RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre, there are 80 kennels that all need seperators replacing. The cost of each seperator is £15. The total cost for all 80 kennels to be refurbished with new seperators is £1200. I have set myself the target of raising this money. I would like to do this  by taking part in a 230m zipwire across the River Tyne. Starting at the Newcastle side of the river and finishing on the Gateshead side, on the deck of HMS Calliope. I will be doing this on the 15th October 2016 between 15:30 and 16:30. The nerves are starting to kick in now, as I have never done a zipwire before!

If I achieve my target of £1200, the centre also need the Majorie Coote room refurbished. Majorie Coote was a lady that loved animals and did a lot of charitable work. The room was named in her memory. The room is used for various events such as meet and greets with potential new owners and pets, fundraising events, education sessions, jumble sales and craft sessions. The furniture in this room is in much need of an update and upgrade. The cost for this would be £1000. This includes new furniture, flooring and a new entertainment system.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and my reasons for doing this. I am very grateful for any amount that you can sponsor, £1, £5, £10. Every pound counts. Small donations add up to make a big difference. Thank you for being part of making that difference.
