Story

Thanks for taking the time to visiting Suzanne's JustGiving page.

Tragically on 10th August 2015 Suzanne, the very much loved daughter of Pat and Brenda, beloved sister of Simon, Jaqueline and Michael; Adored auntie to Ellie, Benjamin and Thea; Caring loving owner of her two 'rescue' greyhounds, Murphy and Maisie; and beloved partner of mine was sadly taken away from us and many other dear friends.

I am Robert Campbell (robertc1888@gmail.com; 07990 734857) and together with the family we feel that it is appropriate that the legacy of Suzanne's memory should be celebrated by helping those who have had less fortune in life.

As we all know Suzanne has many many friends from all walks of life. She had such a vibrant and full life and her drive, enthusiasm and compassion meant that she instantly bonded with just about everyone who had the pleasure to make her acquaintance. Suzanne would not want lots of money spent on flowers from well wishers, that would fade in a week or so. So we ask that rather than send flowers, please leave a few pounds here and a message to say how much you care about this very special girl.

Suzanne was never 'wealthy' in the terms associated with that word. However, she was wholly resourceful and made truly unbelievable efforts throughout her life to make things special for others. If you knew her well enough, you would know that she could make something that cost pennies feel like it was worth a million dollars and the most special thing that you had ever received. In these terms, Suzanne was the richest girl in all the world and I am truly humbled to be able to call her my partner.

Knowing Suzanne and what she'd wish for, I feel that it is appropriate that the funds raised should be directed locally towards those less fortunate that all of us.

She befriended a homeless gentleman on North Bridge in Edinburgh (I think his name is Tony.....but I will need to confirm that....I have been looking for him). This gentleman has had a very hard and unfortunate life through no fault of his own. And, of course there was no way that our Suzanne would just pass him by. Suzanne often helped him out with food, coffee and small amounts of money. Suzanne's mum also recalls when Suzanne was younger, and she had no money to speak of other than her bus fare home, she gave her scarf and hat away to a homeless person on a very cold winter night.

I will liaise directly with Bethany Christian Trust to make sure the money is allocated as is best and most appropriate. I have already established contact with a very nice and understanding lady called Susan.

I will finish on one note; if anyone wants to accompany me, at any time, to the spot on Blackford Hill where Suzanne asked both her mother and I to scatter her ashes then please contact me and I'd be delighted to do so. It is the most beautiful spot in the world...."Suzanne's seat."
