As some of you are already aware, Dave and I are off once more to take part in the Nijmegen 4Daagse March (100 miles over 4 days around the town of Nijmegen in Holland). This year we would really like to raise as much money as possible to support DCC - a fantastic charity which was there for me when I really needed the support and does so much for other people (I can't believe that it is almost 12 years since my Cancer diagnosis and almost 7 years since I have been in remission).

The DCC was established in 2002 and it's core purpose is to support cancer patients and their loved ones - a need that is continually growing. Income is all from voluntary donations, bequests and sponsorship and with annual operation costs of circa £22,000 the charity runs a Centre in Dereham plus a Respite Holiday Home on the coast. With over 20 volunteers, DCC provides: Drop In Sessions; someone to talk to; Therapies including Reflexology; Monthly Coffee Mornings; Bingo evenings; Workshops such as Groove and Chair Yoga; Craft Sessions; Equipment Loan; access to advice on finance, benefits and wills; a wide range of booklets published by Macmillan Cancer Care and Respite breaks at it's Holiday Home. It is also hoping to extend the Centre opening hours to provide more support.

All donations would, as ever, be very gratefully received - it's such a worthy cause which will remain ever close to my heart, so much so that I am now one of the band of DCC Volunteers and help out at the Centre when I can. Thank you in advance Suzi :-)
