Event: London to Paris - Tour De France Finale, on 24 July 2019
We provide free care services to patients with life limiting conditions.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Nige and I will be cycling from London to Paris over 4 days, covering approximately 300 miles in total!  We will start our epic challenge on Wednesday 24th July and fingers crossed should arrive into Paris on Saturday 27th July.  We have decided to take up this challenge in order to raise money for our local hospice in Stafford - Katharine House Hospice.

If you are not familiar with Katharine House Hospice, they provide free hospice care services for people faced with an illness that cannot be cured with their aim being to enable patients and those close to them to live as fully as possible and make the most of the time that they have left.  All of the services are provided free of charge so they rely heavily on donations.

My Mum passed away in November 2007 aged only 57 to bowel cancer and although she never made it to use their facilities they were on hand to help us in our time of need.  We have so many friends and family who know someone who has benefited from this hospice and the great work that they do and if it wasn't for their services they are unsure of how they would have coped.

This really is a huge challenge for us as we will be required to cycle 95 miles on day one!  I am definitely not a great cyclist, so to cycle up to 9 hours a day for 4 days is going to probably be one of the hardest things I have ever done.  So please dig deep and give whatever you can.  Any donation will be greatly appreciated by both Nige and I and the Hospice.
