We Provide & fund community defibrillators to Improve Cardiac Arrest survival

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those of you who know me well, will know I like a drink of the weekend after playing Saturday or watching the Super Sunday games!

Those of you who know me really well, will know my Mum suffered a cardiac arrest in September 2016, she was given just hours left to live, putting not only her but myself and my family through one of the hardest periods of our lives.

I am so lucky that I still have my Mum to this day, however she is one of a minority who survive a Cardiac arrest.

This is why I am looking to raise money towards The Community Heartbeat trust, whose work goes towards fitting more local defribrilators and increasing the survival rate of those who suffer Cardiac Arrest, which is just 10% for those who suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest.

I thought this would be a fun way of me having to ‘suffer’ only a small bit to raise some money towards such a worthy cause.

Please give what you can and wish me the best of luck on orange juice and lemonades!

About the charity

The Community Heartbeat Trust helps communities undertake defibrillator projects taking into account the needs for the right equipment, the right support, the right adherence to liabilities and governance, community awareness and training programmes, and help with the fund raising and long term support for these projects. As the leading community defibrillator charity in the UK, we have become recognised by ambulance services, councils, community groups and sports governing bodies as the 'gold standard', having set many of the standards now being adopted by other organisations. We live, breath and are hugely passionate about community defibrillation in all its forms, and seek always to offer a holistic and objective advice to communities. We believe a defibrillator is for LIFE and not just for Christmas, and these medical devices should be available to save lives. But they are just that, a medical device, and must be treated with respect. A good project is not about just a defibrillator in the community, but one that forms part of a resilient process, addressing needs, and fully backed by Governance. www.communityheartbeat.org.uk
